As suggested by the name, these minimalist style journals are simple, using a basic tie closure. We omit any special hardware and use significantly less time to make them which allows us to offer them at a lower price. We use the same high quality, heavyweight, acid-free, mixed media art paper as in our premium journals. The paper has a natural white colour, a medium tooth, and is excellent for pencils, coloured pencils, and charcoal, as well as pen-and-ink, markers, oil pastels, and most wet media.
Our journals are slow-made in Canada, meaning they are made by hand, by us. Each journal we make is unique - we offer a range of colours and styles, we use the "live edge" of the leather, and we choose to incorporate and celebrate the natural flaws whenever we can.

Each of our journals are handcrafted, by us. We use natural leather hides and therefore, some variations in colour and texture (including marks, scuffs and scratches) can be expected. In fact, we often celebrate and highlight these irregularities. We include the natural “live edges” of the hides, as well as branding and range marks in our designs because we think it adds to the beauty and uniqueness of each piece.
It is our intention to portray the colours of each product as accurately as possible. Due to lighting or variations in device screen settings, actual colours may vary slightly from what appears online.
